This message is mostly for the folks who were able to attend the 2012
AMSAT Symposium and tour at the Kennedy Space Center.
I am planning for photo and text coverage of the Symposium in the
AMSAT Journal being planned for the January timeframe.
During these events I noticed
A report on KiwiSAT has been submitted to the IARU Region 3 conference taking
place at the Kimdo-Royal City Hotel in Viet Nam.
The paper mentions a planned launch date of 3rd quarter 2013 subject to
financing.
The paper says: Total costs to date is a mere NZ$39,000 which is a very minor

I am now on mode J with a transverter and my Flex-5000A. I picked up a
Downeast 144-28 transverter at the local hamfest, and experienced
overload on the 435 MHz downlink when transmitting on 2M. I had seen
this before with my FT-736R
At a previous hamfest, I saw a Phelps Dodge Cavity

This 432 MHz filter and protection device has a fraction of dB losses
and so if fitted in front of a 70 cm preamplifier do not degrade very
much it's Noise Figure.
You can build it very easily at home.
