technology and cheaper access to space! I hate to sound biased the
commercial space industry is taking off (no pun intended) and the more
commercial competition there is and less "Cost-Plus" contracts the better.

The AMSAT-DL presentation at the AMSAT-UK meeting was that their goverment
decided not to fund their HEO project and they are still looking for a
source of money. AMSAT-NA and AMSAT-UK are concentrating on LEO projects

Hi Clint,
The problem with "field day rules for satellites" is that they are totally
out of line with reality.
Field day for many is to make contacts for the sake of contacts and that's
okay and fine. Collect the points, the contacts and enjoy it. It is a great
hobby!
However, for many others fi
It's one QSO /*per FM satellite*/.
You can make as many as you want on the linear birds.

I thought that the Field Day rules (both ARRL and AMSAT rules) limited the
number of contacts for each entrant/submission/club to one QSO per satellite.
Was that correct? Would there be any point in a club making, say, 20 contacts
on Field Day? Would additional points be available for a club mak
Say "Hi" to Juno
NASA's Juno spacecraft will fly past Earth on October 9, 2013 to receive a gravity assist from our planet, putting it on
course for Jupiter. To celebrate this event, the Juno mission is inviting amateur radio operators around the world to say
"HI" to Juno in a coordinated Morse

Just received an email message from one new to working the

Hi,
There is a poll which is loosely about what to do when HF propagation is bad.
One of the questions is
whether you have ever operated SO-50.

Who are these "instructors?" Seems that would be a much smaller
"target audience" for us to educate.
Every audience I have ever presented my sat show to (more than 73

Interesting that you should mention this as I've been thinking about writing

So I would just load all available TLE data, do 'the math' and list the

Hi Drew and others,
if you want SatPC32 to start off the center of the passband of an SSB/CW
satellite do the following: Run the program choose that satellite. Tune the
radio to the start frequency you want - say 8 kHz above the center of the
