Hi John,
I believe I am correct in stating that SHIDAISAT is correct and it
operates on 437.525 Mhz +/- doppler.

Es'HailSat-2 will carry two geostationary “Phase 4” amateur radio

As a result of a concept proposed by the Qatar Amateur Radio Society,

Peter,
Any guess as to the longitude of the satellite?

Wow, this would be great if we are in the footprint. I might finally get
a chance to use the 2.4 GHz transverter I built back in the AO-40 days.
And with the cheap LNB's we've been playing with on 10 GHz, receive
would be pretty easy. I built a 10 GHz receive system here to monitor my
10 GHz
That is indeed a great project!
Now, if the satellite is positioned at 26 degrees east it will not be
useful for North America. Is that correct? Preliminary footprint analysis
shows it just touches the east side of Brazil.
Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Hi Joe,
Unfortunately the geostationary footprint at 26° East will not cover
North America, only parts of Brazil will be covered.
Basically the same position as Es'HailSat-1
Perhaps we will find another one willing to sponsor a position more in
the West...

I agree with you Stefan. At 26 degrees east, the satellite should cover all of
Europe and Africa. Coverage may stretch west to Iceland, eastern Greenland,
and the eastern tip of Brazil. Coverage should stretch to the east to most of
India, and western halves of China and Russia.
It won't

Hi Gaston,
Is 2395 MHz what will be used routinely? I notice that 2422-2437 MHz is
listed as primary and 2369-2396 MHz is listed as 'contingency'.
I'm in the process of updating the AMSAT Frequency Guide and this info
would be helpful.
Tnx!

I just tried to work AO-73. I can hear the beacon just fine, but no

Jeff,
It is still in it's normal day/night mode. They are reviewing the data
from yesterday's test and will decide if they can put it in full time
transponder mode on the weekends based on that data.

I just took this satellite footprint at 26 degrees east as an example to show

If you look on the outer border of the footprint (in for example) Brazil they
