We are looking for as many D72 owners that live within a few hours of Mammoth Cave, KY to join in a significant cave-radio experiment on 2-3 March 2013 to demonstrate VHF/UHF cave radio “texting” and status reporting. The D72’s can automatically relay position and text data up to 7 or 14 hops from radio to radio. We want to see how well this technique can be used in caves. We have the support of the National Park service to conduct this first ever cave-radio-relay experiment.
