Hi J,
thanks for the commit and the explanation mail below...
I think what you're asking for is fairly easy... maybe not easily but at
least doable... If something comes up again, Tom will either ask or we'll
figure it out and we'll be able to fix the makefiles for everyone...

I also think view menu.. but yes, it is ambiguous...
try opening a multi convo (use me as dummy), and click any 'single user'

Compiling aMSN on Mac OS X is a real disaster, Phil and/or Youness, can you make a small effort to improve it. That would HELP a lot to compile aMSN on Mac OS X-Intel. That's not normal that I'm the only one able to compile that. No one can guess theses steps without being a real expert in makefile
Clear should be in edit, not chat... I don't understand "New chat ..."

I agree, but I would probably have done the same thing! :)

great! and great approach Arieh.
I also don't think that it's a threat to have the start time of amsn,
since anyways, with the official client, we'll have the uptime of the pc...
we could have used the start time (t=0) as the time where the webcam
session started, so first frame always has 0,
I missed this one:
"View profile" should be underneath "send e-mail"

Again a UI-thread; please don't dissmis it.
Depending on the state of the user (online / offline (with or without
mobile device set up), I propose following right-click menus on the
contactlist; I dropped the "notes" entry on purpose because I think
it's not used allthe time and belongs on a tab

Try to use consistent caps
right now you have a
PowerTool (dir)
Powertool (name, namespace)
powertool (filename)
But it might be just personal preference that i complain about this, i
just think it is nicer to have consistency (for me, dir + filen
For Karel,
you can change alpha now using Colorize function :
To only change alpha :
colorize $image white $alpha

look at if you are using reflector or not. pausing doesn't work in
combination with reflector at the moment (small hint: when you press
pause and the button doesn't change to resume, you are using reflector)

Hi Gus, it's appreciated, but as I said in an e-mail a while ago, pixmapmenu is probably never going to be used because it's not possible to make it fast enough under tcl, and because the bindings are absolute hell to try and write, I've not succeeded. Very sorry if you missed that mail!

Sorry! After some more testing, pausing webcam is still being a bit strange.
I can pause webcam to someone else who's using MSN Messenger 7.

Hi Tom!!
I've modified a little the pixmapmenu.tcl to use two menu_backgrounds,
one for the Menu bar (where aMSN menu is...) and the others as it is

Yes, I will test it as soon as possible (in few hours i think) and give you a feedback (but this should work).
Hi,
webcam pausing currently checks:

setObjOption $sock state "PAUSED"
$window.pause configure -text "[trans playwebcamsend]"

Hey guys, I know I've not been active for ages, I have exams and stuff and no energy! But I have been playing with ideas as usual and decided to write a little wiki page about this bloody gui issue. Go read and see what you think. :)

Very good approach Arieh, thanx a lot. :) I didn't think of the
$::time_now as a big threat, anyway there won't be another way to access
this outside aMSN apart from the webcam headers (and people who haven't
seen the source code still won't know what it means). However, you are
right about da
That is a good solution however there are 2 very minor problems with it.
First is that people will be able to tell from that how long you have had
amsn running for, not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but for privacy
reasons maybe it is bad. Second if somebody changes the date on their

it's ok ;)and you have to modify the line 1535 of msncam.tcl too, with this : set timestamp [ expr { [clock clicks -milliseconds] - $::time_now } ] append header "[binary format i $timestamp]"

set timestamp [ expr { [clock clicks -milliseconds] - $::time_now } ]
