First I want to bring you up to date on the status of BitRock. It has
been over 5 years now and the installer has certainly improved. To
address your concerns:

long time ago I wrote there but I am still breathing/reading.
The things that made us drop Bitrock for Autopackage is that to generate
an autopackage, we only have to change the package version in one file
and type one command and if Makefile is up to date all is created.
