I an trying to use system.out to print various statements in my code
to check that they are working correctly but they don't seen to be
printing for some reason. I read that the printouts are suppose to be
in the logcat but its not there either.

internet, although there could be any number of related reasons the
app is not able to resolve the hostname. That kind of error "Unknown

I have the same problem with SDK 1.5R3, the gpx file I used for 1.5R2
sends one update and does not trigger an location updates anymore.
Same as I manually add a GPS location using DDMS. Tested with both my
own application as well as the Google Maps application. In the
emulator settings I got both

worked.
If at this code:
