I found the DST information of TZ DB is incorrect. Here is an example. String strTZ = "Asia/Taipei"; TimeZone tz = TimeZone.getTimeZone(strTZ); Log.d("wc", strTZ + " UTC=" + tz.getRawOffset() / 1000 + " DST=" + tz.useDaylightTime());
