When I start the Android emulator, the soft keyboard that is presented seems to be expecting me to type Chinese or Japanese characters (i.e. it composes what I type into those characters). I can click on the soft keyboard button in the lower left corner (which contains Chinese or Japanese characters) and change the mode so that I can enter English text, but when I do that, if I try and type an uppercase character, it will automatically capitalize the next character I type.
How can I control the default type of keyboard that is presented by default so that I can enter western languages without these problems?
