Hello! With the current implementation, it can indeed take a long time for GTalk to connect to the servers. If you are saying that it takes a long time for the network connection to complete, that may not be unusual. We are working on improving the network performance of the GTalk service in future releases.
However, if you mean that it takes 60 seconds just to bind to the Android Service, then that could be abnormal.
