a retail one at non contract price or contract price plus termination
fee, question would be if you would be happy with a locked down phone

T-Mobile sold me a G1 without a contract for $400.
Once I had the phone I had to *fax* a copy of the invoice to their
phone unlocking department, and they sent me a carrier unlock code
within 24 hours (for free).
