the best option would be that google change the market options, they lack a
lot of things, this is just one of them, it's a shame that we don't even
have a channel to talk to market developers as opposed the channel we have
here to talk to the platform devs

Google's Android Market does not provide upgrade functionaliy, except
free upgrades forever.
