I'm facing the same issue. Without manual intervention (switching wi- fi off and on again) it can sometimes take several hours for wi-fi to reestablish itself.
Setting 'Wi-Fi sleep policy' to 'never' also does not seem to help. I assume this is the same as issue 2059.
