Yes you don't know when the map tiles have been returned but in
general this does not matter if you keep rendering it in a loop - in

Cool thanks - we will look at that. A gotcha is you don't know how
long it will take for the tiles to be returned before you can get the
image of the map.
It was also suggested that we just use a webview with the google maps
web api for the static thumbnail map. That sounds like it might be

In order to show two mapview u need to implement it in the same draw()
method of the map activity.Put some condition check for two map views
as suited to u for setting paramaeters for scaling up and scaling down
taking the same canvas object.
