Hi all,

I have this problem with Android Dev Phone 1:

When receiving SMS, the "From" number has a form of
"+<countrycode><operatorcode><number>". However, when receiving calls,
the number is "8<operatorcode><number>".
Now the problem is that if I store my contacts in
"8<operatorcode><number>" format, the name of the SMS sender doesn't
get looked up from the contacts. The reverse is true if I use the
+countrycode... format in contacts - the caller's name doesn't get
looked up.

The thing is, I never had this problem before - all my previous phones
(e.g. Nokia n73) and all my friends' phones (samsungs, nokias, sony-
ericcsons) show the SMS From <name> fields correctly, even if the
contacts contain the number in 8<operatorcode>... format, and SMS
comes with +<countrycode> format.

It's really annoying - most of the time I have no idea who sent me a
message, and there seems to be no "search by number" feature in
contacts.

The country in question is Georgia (not the state). I've tested with
two operators (Geocell and Magti), the problem appears with both of
them.

Thanks,
Alex
