The latest blog post http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/10/five-steps-to-future-hardware-happiness.html talks about using the uses-feature to future proof your apps.
However, say you have a game that is controlled either by the accelerometer, or by a physical keyboard. I can't see anyway of indicating that you must have one or the other. So you still aren't future proofed for devices that are touch screen only.
