[android-developers] Record video flipped horizontally

Hello, I have a development board with camera attached on it via CSI 
interface but for some reason the camera display and records video flipped 
horizontally. The camera is recognized as back camera by Android.
I want to remove that flip both on the video record preview and the 
recorded video. So far I found a way to do that on the preview by applying 
transformation matrix to a TextureView, but how to apply similar technique 
when recording via the MediaRecorder?
I am targeting Android 4.2

[android-developers] Looking for an example of AudioRecord on Android

Hello All, 


Am trying to write an app that reads from the microphone and where I, in the 
same app, 
write the results/buffer myself to my own file.  Believe me I have Googled till 
my fingers 
were numb.  But I am having a problem with the whole "callback" part.  


Whether it's the onPeriodicNotification or onMarkerReached part, I just can't 
seem to get 
it right.  Not looking for anyone to write it to me, but if I could just find 
the proper shell online, 
I could do it myself.


So if anyone knows of a good example, please.

Are you looking at the right tab? When you go to create an AVD, the first
selection is "Recommended" which doesn't include Froyo. Select "Other
Images" and it should be there.

[android-developers] Am i required to use google billing?

I was just wondering whether or not I'm required to use Google billing for 
my use case. Im working on an app in which the user logs in to see "x" in 
their account. The free version of the account only allows the user to 
create 2 of "x", the plus account allows the user to create 100 of "x" and 
the pro account is unlimited. The paid accounts will be paid for 
yearly...but not as a subscription but rather a one time fee for that year 
which expires in 360 days (at which point the user will be promoted to pay 
again for the next 360 days). 

A key feature here is that the user can upgrade their account at anytime 
and receive credit for what they have already paid for in that year, and 
get a reduced price for the upgrade based on days remaining in the year. So 
every day the upgrade price is dynamically changing. Am I required to use 
google pay, and does google pay support a dynamically changing payment?

Hi Developers,

This is my first time making and publishing an application. I have 
developed my game application on Unity. Once I've published it on the 
Playstore,* I am able to install it but no shortcut or option to open it is 
displayed.*

Brief History of what I did before publishing: Edit player settings on 
Unity -> cleaned & signed on Android SDK -> published on Playstore

[android-developers] How to get javascript value in Android

I am very new to Android and developing my first app. My Version is 6.0 and 
API veresion is 21.

My app is having a textbox and a button in its home page. I am putting my 
url and hit submit button so that a webview will loads this url.

In my url I included some javascript functions, they are defined to 
retuning some values.

I am trying to get that value and assign the value to other textbox.

I tried in two ways but none of them worked for me.

First 
I created a new class as follows,

public class JsInterface { 
 private String val;
 
 @JavascriptInterface
 void receiveString(String value) {
  Log.d("This is what from JS-", value);
  val = value;
 }
 String Val() {
  return val;
 }
} 

My JS function

 function goAndroid(Go Value to Script){ 
  var goString = "Hello " + Go Value to Script; 
  window.MyAndroidApp.receiveString(goString); 
 } 



In mainActivity.java

 WebView.addJavascriptInterface(new JsInterface(), "MyAndroidApp"); 
 WebView.loadUrl("javascript:goAndroid('Go Value to Script')") 
 //Below value is null.. 
 System.out.println(new JsInterface().Val()); 
 
Here the system out comes nothing...

Second 
As I am using API version 21, I followed the another way,

 webView.evaluateJavascript("(function() { return goAndroid('My Value'); 
})();", new ValueCallback() { 
  @Override 
  public void onReceiveValue(String s) { 
  Log.d("LogName--", s); 
 } 
 }); 
 
Here I am getting a small popup which says " unfortunately, app has 
stopped". In LogCat I am getting the following error

[android-developers] Launcher widget configuration

I am developing a custom launcher. I would like to host widgets. When I 
create the hosted widget I check if it needs configuration. If it does I 
run the configuration activity and after that everything works fine. Once 
the widget is configured I do not want to run the configuration again. For 
example if I restart the device the launcher is restarted, it has to add 
the hosted widgets again. I tried to keep track on configured widgets in 
shared preferences and not to start the configuration activity for them, 
but in that case the widgets simply do not work. I guess they do not get an 
update request or they believe they are not configured. Can anyone tell how 
to solve this issue?

please.
 i'm confused in push notification and local notification i implement local 
notification but where put the code that's auto executed with user 
interaction

[android-developers] modify status bar height

I want to change status bar height of android device using an application 
for non rooted devices.
I found a way to modify it using xPosed installer but it is for rooted 
device.
I also tried to get the height of status bar at run time using java 
reflection technique and is able to set the new height but the new height 
is not reflected to status bar UI.

Below is the code snippet which I tried:

  field = c.getDeclaredField("status_bar_height");
  field.setAccessible(true);
  field.setInt("status_bar_height", 2000 & ~Modifier.FINAL);

Do I need to modify the dimens.xml file as well or this value of 
status_bar_height 
can be reflected directly. 
Please let me know any changes which I have to make.

The number of skilled professionals are exponentially increasing and it 
becomes very difficult to locate the right candidate. Under such scenario, 
it is extremely time consuming process to call each and every candidate 
only to find out that the particular candidate is no longer looking for 
change. There might also be instances when you might have skipped 
contacting the candidate who are actively seeking jobs.  
 
EMDB bridges effectively bridges the gap between the recruiters and job 
seekers. Candidates upon registering with EMDB get a unique EMDB ID against 
which they update their availability status to either ‘Available’ or 
‘Unavailable’. Before short listing a candidate’s profile you can check 
his/her availability status from EMDB and take it to the next level if the 
candidate is ‘Available’. Alternatively, if the candidate is ‘Unavailable’ 
you can choose to follow the candidate to get notified when his/her status 
changes to ‘Available’. This way the complex recruitment process can be 
simplified using EMDB.

I now believe other apps might be using Qualcomm audio with CAF. See

I have no C/++ knowledge. How can I find out if I can call these methods 
from native side? Since other apps can, there must be a way.

[android-developers] Activity not starting over lock screen

 I have an issue which happens only on Samsung devices: 
 I am trying to start an activity from a service extending a 
wakefullIntentService. If the screen is locked, the activity should start 
over the lock screen. In some cases this happens, in some it doesn't. Once 
the screen is unlocked I can see my activity there./
 I use the following code in the activity:

 @Override

public void onAttachedToWindow() {
super.onAttachedToWindow();
getWindow().addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_SHOW_WHEN_LOCKED |
WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_TURN_SCREEN_ON |
WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON);
}

   Does anyone have any idea?
