RE: [android-developers] Re: TaskAffinity causes new instance being created when startActivity
When L starts A at the step 3 ,you want only one A or two instances of A? If only one , use the flag singleTask ,if two, do nothing . Can you describe you problem more exactly? I do not understand you want the L A B in the same task or not. -Original Message- From: android-developers@googlegroups.com [mailto:android-develop...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of James Wang Sent: Friday, June 11, 2010 12:09 AM To: Android Developers Subject: [android-developers] Re: TaskAffinity causes new instance being created when startActivity Dianne, You are right. We did want to make an activity like launcher. In fact, our product is more complicated than what I said above. Below is the real plan: 1)We made an activity as the launcher L; 2)A tells L to start B; 3)B does something and tells L starts A again. L,A,B have the same taskAffinity. And L starts B and A with NEW_TASK. BTW, I noticed such words in SDK reference: Similarly, a new instance of a singleTop activity may also be created to handle a new intent. However, if the target task already has an existing instance of the activity at the top of its stack, that instance will receive the new intent (in an onNewIntent() call); a new instance is not created. In other circumstances — for example, if an existing instance of the singleTop activity is in the target task, but not at the top of the stack, or if it's at the top of a stack, but not in the target task — a new instance would be created and pushed on the stack. It says if A is singleTop, A gets created twice is supposed to be true because A is not on the top of task. But we did not set A as singleTop. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Android Developers group. I am populating the ImageView with the following code (getting the image from the SDCard if available): Bitmap bmp = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(filename); ImageView iv = getCoverImageView(); if(null!=iv) iv.setImageBitmap(bmp); However when I scroll and the images are loaded they seem to turn up in the wrong places. The ListView is populated through a CursorAdapter: @Override public void bindView(View row, Context ctxt, Cursor c) { SDIReleaseWrapper wrapper = (SDIReleaseWrapper) row.getTag(); wrapper.populateFrom(c); } @Override public View newView(Context ctxt, Cursor c, ViewGroup parent) { LayoutInflater inflater = getLayoutInflater(); View row = inflater.inflate(R.layout.release_row, parent, false); SDIReleaseWrapper wrapper = new SDIReleaseWrapper(row); row.setTag(wrapper); wrapper.populateFrom(c); return row; } and the rows are populated with information from the database through the wrapper. The TextViews in the rows show up fine, but the ImageViews seem to have random effects. I'm not really understanding the process of populating an ImageView in the row or why the ImageView doesn't know which row to populate with the image. [android-developers] Re: Is the limit of memory heap only 6M?
Thank you for you answer. I monitored the memory heap by Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() and totalMemory();. When my app starts (free is 700k,total is 2.7M) When I take picture, the picture is 1.2M (free is 700k,total 5M) The log shows 07-01 11:31:27.062: INFO/dalvikvm-heap(395): Grow heap (frag case) to 5.020MB for 1337498-byte allocation If I do not call System.gc() before i load the picture it will throw the OOM exception as I pasted. I thought at that time I just to allocate for 1.2M. Is it means it is very dangerous to load picture ,I had better to check and release the memory every time? -Original Message- From: android-developers@googlegroups.com [mailto:android-develop...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Mark Murphy Sent: Wednesday, July 01, 2009 11:38 AM To: android-developers@googlegroups.com Subject: [android-developers] Re: Is the limit of memory heap only 6M? 楊健 wrote: 07-01 11:32:02.192: VERBOSE/QualcommCameraHardware(35): state transition QCS_WAITING_JPEG -- QCS_IDLE 07-01 11:32:02.232: ERROR/dalvikvm-heap(395): 6291456-byte external allocation too large for this process. 07-01 11:32:02.232: ERROR/(395): VM won't let us allocate 6291456 bytes 07-01 11:32:02.242: DEBUG/AndroidRuntime(395): Shutting down VM 07-01 11:32:02.242: WARN/dalvikvm(395): threadid=3: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x4000fe70) 07-01 11:32:02.242: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(395): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception 07-01 11:32:02.302: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(395): java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget My app shut down when i load a jpg file,i can avoid it by call system.gc().But I think memory limit will be 14M or 16M. [android-developers] How to save a Bitmap instance to a *.bmp file.

[android-developers] Re: How to save a Bitmap instance to a *.bmp file.
Thank you very much! I think i have to convert the file by myself! On 6月27日, 午後11:52, Mark Murphy mmur...@commonsware.com wrote: 楊健 wrote: How can i save a Bitmap instance to a *.bmp file?Anyone knows? Option #1: Don't do it. So, for example, if this is a question of uploading data to some server, let the server do the conversion from PNG. Option #2: See if there is a way, through the implementation of Bitmap in the open source code, for C/C++ code to get its hands on the raw byte array that is the image. Then, use the newly-released NDK to write yourself a utility method somewhere that works like compress(), but writes out BMP files, perhaps using some existing BMP-encoding C code you find somewhere. Is it strange that we can only save a bitmap instance to a png or jpg file? No. BMP files are huge (compared to a PNG edition of the same image), and huge is not something you typically want on a mobile phone. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy)http://commonsware.com|http://twitter.com/commonsguy _Android Programming Tutorials_ Version 1.0 Available! --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Android Developers group. I think it do not work unless do something in the target app’s manifest.xml http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/activity-element.html android:exported Whether or not the activity can be launched by components of other applications - true if it can be, and false if not. [android-developers] Why the intent from Gallery has not picture`s Uri
Hi everybody. I tried to handle a picture from Gallery as SDK said: When the user chooses Share from the menus, the system compares the Share request (an Intent object) to available activities (by looking at their intent filters) and displays choices to share. In this case, it matches Email, Gmail, Messaging and Picassa. If your activity can send a picture or upload it to a website, all it needs to do is make itself available for sharing (by setting its intent filter). With the setting in AndroidMenifest.xml intent-filter action android:name=android.intent.action.CHOOSER / category android:name=android.intent.category.SELECTED_ALTERNATIVE / action android:name=android.intent.action.SEND / data android:mimeType=image/* / category android:name=android.intent.category.DEFAULT / category android:name=android.intent.category.ALTERNATIVE / category android:name=android.intent.category.SELECTED_ALTERNATIVE / /intent-filter My application is called but the intent i got a null at getIntent ().getData().
