The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. You will also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across the company. *Primary Responsibilities:* ? Hadoop development and implementation ? Design and develop ETL data flows using Hive/Pig or Java Map/Reduce ? Ingesting data into Hadoop layer using various big data technologies (eg. Pig, Hive, Map/Reduce) ? Developing Data Cleansing technics / UDFs using Pig scripts / Hive QL or Map/Reduce ? Perform pre-processing using Hive and Pig ? Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design ? Perform analysis of data sets and uncover insights ? Maintain security and data privacy ? Propose best practices/standards ? Work with the System Analyst and development manager on a day-to-day basis ? Work with other team members to accomplish key development tasks ? Work with service delivery (support) team on transition and stabilization *Skills Required:* ? 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java Enterprise ECO system (Design, Development, Test, Deploy on Production) is required ? 2+ years of hands-on experience in Big Data environment using Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Hive, Pig etc. ? Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Hive, HBase & Pig ? Good knowledge and hands-on experience in Java ? Writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code ? Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices ? Ability to write Pig Latin Scripts ? Hands-on experience writing Hive QL and tuning Hive QL ? At least one of the steaming techniques in Big Data ? Knowledge of workflow/schedulers like Oozie ? Analytical and problem solving skills, applied to Big Data domain ? Proven understanding with good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts *Assets:* ? Experience is health care insurance industry is a plus ?
