I wiped out everything and started over, including the download of the scripts:

Thank you for all your help... I have always used buildroot for embedded before
and built everything myself. But, on this project, I am having to pick up from
an existing project and bitbake confuses me a bit.
I went onto the router, and found:

its the MACHINE name. look at in your machine layers under conf/machine/
there should be your machine configuration file called yourmachine.conf.
