Just thinking on ways to improve Arachne : * Removing the hardware system specific portion of Arachne.cfg and putting it into (say) system.cfg Then the profiles will be more portable on different machines with Arachne installed. The wizard structure would also change. There would be a separate hardware configuration wizard which is run the first time you install Arachne which will write the settings to SYSTEM.CFG Then you can have a profile wizard to create profiles for different ISPs and/or email accounts for you or other persons who use Arachne. * Import the settings from Win9x DUN. If a Win9x user puts the Dial Up Networking on his/her desktop, it creates a text file with the extension .DUN in C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP. Many of the settings that can be used to create a profile is in this DUN file. Perhaps Arachne could use this if during the install rountine it detects the existence of DUN files in C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP (I was thinking of including a VBS script to access the Win9x registry to get these things but I suspect many Win9x users would have removed the Windows Scripting Host (think Windows batch files) needed to do this with the outbreak of the Love Bug virus/worm) Dev Teelucksingh [EMAIL PROTECTED] Interesting DOS programs at http://www.opus.co.tt/dave Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society at http://www.ttcsweb.org
