Christmas is fast approaching, which means the ?? ?? 2012 release date I
put in the changelog is looking more and more foolish:

Any objections to pushing out a finished 1.50 release sometime in the
next couple of weeks? Although there are more tweaks and compatability
fixes I can work on, I know I'm not going to have a chance to look at them
until sometime next year, so now is probably as good a time as any for
making a release.
