Recent updates have caused problems with my PPPoE FIOS link. The upload speed
has been reduced to near zero.
I "was" using arch linux box as a firewall router. I have a verizon fios
connection that still uses the old pppoe. Recently the pppoe c
to conclude that something is wrong in the pppoe.
The setup I use is close to the arch wiki on pppd, which use the rp-pppoe.so
plugin. Can you explain how netctl+ppp can replace the rp-pppoe plugin.

I did a system update the other day with shorewall and ulogd installed. Now
ulogd fails to start:
