Hi Shankar, You have already pointed out two ways of doing the same thing. As I have noticed there are other things which have two or more ways of doing the same thing. For example in AS we can either drag and drop a war file in to the web apps folder or we can upload the war file using the UI.

Even though dragging and dropping is working in your machine this is discouraged because this directory is an implementation detail. In a multi-tenant setup a folder is created with the tenant ID and artifacts are copied there. Recommended way to deploy artifacts is to either use the admin UI or

Also, atleast in all your examples, the end result is same. However, in this case, when you create a datasource from UI, it will be in registry and when you create in capp, it will be in file system. My question was, you explained what you are doing. You haven't explained why you are doing it.
