The PUI is tricky. I found that I needed to override the search method in the PUI SearchController to get an "and" by default. There may be a JIRA ticket in for this, but I'm not finding it in a quick search. Joshua From:

We are trying to change our default search parameter in the PUI. We've added AppConfig[:solr_params] = { "q.op" => "AND" } to the config file and rebooted but the PUI still gives us "OR" results. Is there something else we need to change? v. 2.5.1 VM running under KVM CentOS Linux 7.0 30 GB
