Thank you, Valerie--I hadn't tried that so just did. I tried changing both
Repository and Global Preferences, but it did not make the desired change
in our instance. Any other ideas would be most welcome!

Wendy,

There are no default settings for the importer in the interface, however, you 
can set the default publish status for all new records in the Preferences menu 
under the drop-down arrow next to your name in the upper-right. Try checking 
Publish? there and your next LCNAF import should be a published record.
