I got a similar error message during a reinstall a few weeks back and was able
to resolve it by following the directions here:

Hi folks,
We still haven't resolved the problem. I have had several email exchanges with
Ariel support,so they are responding and offering solutions.
We have been able to successfully load the software on another computer, so I
suspect that it is something with the pc setup.
