They use this scheme in SOME places, but not everywhere.
Massachusetts has been changing the highway exit numbers for the last decade or
slow to adopt the scheme where the exit numbers are the number of miles from one
end of the highway. So you know that if you are at exit 68 and want exit

Yes, there are always trade-offs. Nevertheless, I still think the solution
to this problem requires a more holistic view of section 2.
Looking at this more, I have the following suggestion;
Rewrite the introductory paragraph to section 2 as follows;
Networks of all sizes and types require

Hi David,
If you're just looking at the static document, you're right. But
here's
I support adding a definition for the term Number Resources to the
definitions in section 2 of the NRPM. However, I don't think it should be
identified as section 2.17, even though that is the next number for that
section. When I look at section 2 as a whole, I believe the term Number
Resources
, including ARIN, manage the
registration of such Number Resources to ensure uniqueness.

Mike

Worse still: RFC 7020 never explicitly defines Internet Numbers or
Internet Number Resources, the thing section 2.17 is trying to
explain. It defines the "Internet Numbers Registry System.”

Hi Bill,
Speaking for myself here, not on behalf of ARIN AC, nor even NRPM WG, but
as myself only.
I am in favour of the policy as written.
I had originally written the proposal for this draft policy which came from
the NRPM Working Group to introduce a definition for Internet Number
Resources
