I think it's fine to leave it, but then I don't often edit the wiki. ;-) It's only a second or two, so I doubt it's going to kill anyone to wait. I suspect the git thing will save more than that. If the delay upsets people it _might_ be worth trying to track down the pages that are taking longest to build, and tweak them to be quicker. There are some suggestions on the ikiwiki site about that. I think that's something that's being cached in your browser. Try reloading that page and/or flushing related browser history. It is possible that fcgi was upset about something, as restarting that seems to have made things better, but I'm not 100% certain because I changed a couple of other things while I was about it. The other things are: setting ikiwiki to use git to track which files have changed, so that it doesn't need to scan the file system (only_committed_changes). setting it so that if ikiwiki.cgi ends up waiting for locks, it tells you to wait after 10 seconds, and starts retrying (cgi_overload_*) hopefully the first will speed things up a little, and the latter do no harm. I also note that 'be' (the bug tracker) takes a couple of seconds at the end of every site rebuild, which strikes me as a bit slow given the lack of recent activity. Luke, are you actually using 'be' at present? The edits still succeed; the page just takes long to update. If you want to confirm your edits, just try editing the page again and you should see your changes in the source. ___ arm-netbook mailing list arm-netbook@lists.phcomp.co.uk http://lists.phcomp.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/arm-netbook Send large attachments to arm-netb...@files.phcomp.co.uk
