The "Golden Globe" nomination for ARR is greatest news this year, congrats to ARR. 2008 seems to be a "Golden year" with never ending success & praise galore for Rahman. A fine series of albums were released this year and there were mixed reviews by critics rather than usual biased one.
And also another thing I want to mention that, if ARR is nominated for the Oscars for best song, he will be performing the song at Awards ceremony!. This is the tradition at Oscars, and this will be second best honour to winning an oscar!. So fingers crossed for this great day!!
