Hi,
To elaborate a little on the answer Fred gave.
You will probably need a temp-field (display-only) that you will store the
calcualated result in, and then display that in the message.
Action 1: Set-Fields: tmpint = $a$ + $b$
Action 2: Message: The result is $tmpint$

We've got an old 6.3 server running on Solaris; after a restart this
morning due to database issues, it is now coming back as unlicensed.
The license keys are valid, but it appears as though the server has
forgotten its server ID. In the licenses section of the admin tool, the
AR System Server
Server ID is based on the MAC address of the primary NIC. Any chance that
changed?

Hi,
In the old days the HostID on Solaris boxes was tied to a hardware-id on the
motherboard.

I thought it was something like that; I know we've had some changes on
secondary NICs on some of our boxes, but this is legacy kit that I wouldn't
think has changed.
Sure that we have some people around who support the hardware, will ask
them. Ta!

H, surely there should be at least a value displayed in the AR System
Server ID? Being blank implies something more than just a NIC change -
some other hardware issue?

Hi,
My kowledge of the hardware based host id stems from 15 years or so ago.
Remedy/BMC might have changed Solaris to NIC as well.
It might be that your first NIC has been disabled, and that the AR Server is
still trying to access the MAC on the disabled NIC.

Hello all, a note from John Luthgers ARSList announcements,
the beta version of ARInside 3.1.0 is available for testing. You could find

Dave,
We just had this problem. It has to do with the binding order of the NICs.
We had to turn off a NIC and then restart Remedy so the correct mac address
would be used. And then turn on the other NICs after that.We have had
several restarts since then and the binding order seems to
Teresa,
I'll look into that; ifconfig shows 4 addresses, but I'm unaware of the
correct sequencing. Hopefully we still have someone around who can amend
the config.

Solaris servers use the decimal version of the hostid for licensing, not the
MAC address.Check the output of;
-bash-3.2$ hostid

-bash-3.2$ echo $((0x842cbce6))

Your license hosted should be the last number.

That is interesting; the hostid returns 83bfa8bd.
echo $((0x83bfa8bd)) returns a negative (-2084591427). One of our
(functioning) 6.3 servers appears to have a server ID with a WWW prefix,
not a numeric that I'm used to.

Dear listers,
is it possible to change the location of a field in a form with an active link
or something like that? To change the x- and y- coordinates or maybe the width
and height options as well?
Thank you very much for your help!
