Dear List,
I have an AIE job that pulls data into an ARS 7.1 / CMDB 2.1 Class, from a an Oracle database (ARS 7.1 / CMDB 2.1 Class) table. The job is successfully pulling data from the source into the destination. I am using the option to update record only if checksum for mapped field has changed, and to retrieve all source records. The problem that I am running into is that if the destination field contains a value and the source field has become null/empty, the AIE job is not clearing out the destination field so that it matches the source. As values change on the source side, the AIE job is updating the destination fields correctly. But, if the field on the source side becomes null/empty, the AIE job leaves the destination field value unchanged. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get AIE to clear out the fields if and when the source value has become null/empty? Looking through the options/settings, I can't see what would be the solution to this. On a side note, we are needing to migrate out CMDB from a non Unicode environment setup to a Unicode one. Due to the number of records to move and being unable to bring our production environment down for very long, I was hoping to use AIE to migrate the data over to a new system and then have it do the delta updates for a few days till both systems are in sync. Once that is done, we would cut over to the new Unicode database and server. This way the down time would be the time to do one last delta update and to cut over the database. Any suggestions on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Both environments are ARS 7.1, CMDB 2.1, AIE 7.1, Oracle 10g DB, and Solaris OS. Thanks, Brent. _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug10 www.wwrug.com ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"
