does anybody know about an existing tutorial/how-to for integrating new
artwork to the wiki?
AFAIK something like that doesn't exist yet. Basically, you have to
create an account, upload the image and reference it as
- either [[Image:Filename]] to display it directly in the doc

I'm quite sure I'll be able to add an image and link to it using the
help and looking at existing examples. But it might be easier (not only
for me) to follow some step-by-step instructions
