*Engagement Description: *We are in need of having one experienced Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Architect. The main goal of the EDW Architect is to assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for Enterprise Data Warehousing in conjunction with data users, department managers, client and other key stakeholders. Design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of Enterprise Data Warehouse assets. The EDW Architect will have the responsibility of assessing requirements, defining technical architecture, (including data reference architecture), implementation plan and delivery of Enterprise Data Warehouse projects. In addition, the EDW Architect will be responsible for process, data modeling, and metadata repository for the Enterprise Data Warehouse within the agencies Enterprise Architecture and Data Architecture frameworks, standards and processes. The consultant is expected to actively collaborate with State staff to provide the following, but not limited to: 1. Implement an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) utilizing the established framework. 2. Provide the mentoring, training and skills transfer of relational and/or dimensional conceptual, logical and physical models using Sybase PowerDesigner for the Enterprise Data Warehouse to the State s EDW staff. The consultant s approach is expected to be adaptable and change to meet individual State staff needs and to establish a mutual open-minded learning environment with clearly communicated goals. 3. Develop and deliver detailed documentation for the States data best practices and standards based on the States existing documentation (if available) and that of industry leaders (i.e., DAMA, Oracle, TDWI, etc.) 4. Develop and deliver detailed documentation for the States Enterprise Data Warehouse installations, configurations, requirements analysis, dimensional and relational data modeling, development jobs and physical schemas, release, maintenance, support and other Enterprise Data Warehouse documentation, as requested, for the continuity of the Enterprise Data Warehouse environment.
