Our client is seeking an experience SAS Server Administrator to join its
Data Warehouse team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly
skilled team of technical professionals and to contribute to the support of
a critical service.
The SAS Admin will be responsible for routine SAS server maintenance and
support as well as support of SAS desktop installations. Experience tuning
SAS servers for privacy and performance are required skills.
*Duties:*
- Install and Upgrade SAS solution
- Plan and understand the physical layout of the SAS platform
- Prepare automated backups included metadata and ability to restore
- Install and automate SAS software services such as Metadata Server,
Computer Server, Middle-Tier
- Manage SAS solution configuration settings
- Understand configuration options of all SAS software services
- Able to install/update SAS software versions
- Ability to download and apply SAS hotfixes as necessary
- Able to apply SAS licenses including certificates as necessary
- Automate administration tasks using operating systems commands,
scripting, and SAS
- Troubleshooting SAS software issues
- Configure and manager log files for system monitoring and
troubleshooting
- Initiate and follow up on SAS technical support calls
- Able to start/stop/restart SAS services as needed and in the
correct order
- Manager SAS Code, Reports, and Data
- Create SAS libraries to RDBMS
- Create SAS libraries to SAS datasets
- Manage organization of SAS folders including stored processes,
reports, tables, and other SAS content
- Manage SAS Access and Security
- Able to create SAS Users
- Able to create SAS Groups
- Prepare reports of system use suitable for auditing individual user
activity
- Able to create Access Control Templates to configure security and
access rights
- Able to apply security and access to SAS objects such as servers,
folders, stored processes, reports, libraries, tables and other
SAS content
- Able to design and request user, group and resource security model
for underlying operating system authentication and access controls (Linux
required, Windows nice to have)
- General SAS support
- Help users load, secure, and access data including data transfers
between platforms (Linux/Windows)
- Help users create reports and analytics
- Able to research and answer SAS user questions
- Create/Update User how-to documents
*Preferred Qualifications:*
- Minimum 5 years SAS system administration experience encompassing
entire SAS EBI suite of tools with in-depth understanding of SAS metadata
server, application server, web server, web application server, SPD server,
stored process server, load-balancing server cluster
- Minimum 5 years hands on experience with SAS Management Console, SAS
Enterprise Guide
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with one or more SAS web tools
such as SAS Studio, SAS Stored Procedures, SAS Data Quality Studio
- Solid understanding of predictive analytics, data quality and data
management concepts
- Ability to work effectively with all constituents including
epidemiologists, economists, investigators, business users, data analysts
- Ability to manage mid-to-large SAS development projects with 100+
users in multi-tenant style environment; experience in project management
is a plus
- Understanding of configuration management, change management and
release management concepts and how they relate to application development
and administration
- Experience in systems support, user support, customer support or
training of enterprise class software and / or hardware
- Detailed knowledge of security, performance, server design,
cross-platform architecture, system backup, recovery and storage
administration specifically on Linux platforms using virtualization
technologies
- Experience with Linux operating system level scripting and security
features for managing users, groups, permissions, file storage and processes
- Demonstrated ability to present complex technical programs and
concepts to business users, project sponsors and peer support teams
