Unix Administrator with NetBackup -
Experience: 6 to 10 years
Strong understanding of UNIX and Storage environments and Mastered in
NetBackup.
1. Installation, configuration, upgradation and maintenance of VERITAS
NetBackup Master Server, Media server & Clients on different flavors of OS.
(HP-UX, SUN Solaris, Linux & Windows)
2. Troubleshooting restore and backup failures escalated by L2 Team
3. Providing Level 3 Support for Storage & VERITAS NetBackup solutions,
4. Managing NetBackup using SAN media servers, Shared Storage Option
(SSO), and Veritas Vault.
5. Consolidating Data Centers / merging backup catalogs / tape
libraries -- Participation in DR testing activities, Development of DR plans
for the Backup environment
6. Good exposure to file System and Database RMAN backup process and
troubleshooting.
7. Troubleshooting Tape drive problem, Backup/Recovery Hardware
Management including opening and closing hardware related support calls,
managing problem resolution, and providing required information to the
support organizations for problems with external storage devices like tape
drives or tape libraries.
