I'm for it as well, and would be for switching the default to
nonmangled. I think the social impact of mangled names is negative,
as is the fact that the fields are public, but that is another issue,

like it would cause me problems with all the ITDs I use, or because it
just seems problematic in general? I think in my personal use cases I
have ITDs with very specific behavior which is unlikely to cause many
name clash
