I know Alpana. In fact a couple of very close friends of our
daughter's , who are our family friends too, are vegans.
But I think this kind of self-imposed rules of diet smack of
fundamentalism. But it is their choice. They have every right

What I fiund is that the Root of
Hindu Vegetarianism is surprisingly and contrary to popular belief is not
'compassion to animals' but it is to keep oneself clean and pure so that it
will help in getting 'Mwksha' or 'Mukti'
