Dear Hazarika, Your question no.-03 to Mr. Ankur itself is reflecting the dangerous situation prevailing in Assam. your concern regarding academic session of Students is also very much valid. i also would not like to see the schoolgoing students being used as pawns. but, at the same time if something is not done by someone the Indegeneous people will lose the political power in the very next decade. SITUATION IN ENGLAND IS NOT SAME AS IN ASSAM! (POLISH PEOPLE ARE NOT ON THE VERGE OF OVERWHELMING THE ENGLISH POPULATION).
I want to ask you and Siddhartha :- can we afford to lose our political power to the immigrant Bangladeshis and East-Pakis? With Regards. - Kuladip P.S.:- Request to all, Please think and express your view about the issue regarding the Childrens(born in Assam/India) of convicted Illegal immigrants. --- On Fri, 8/8/08, Sanjeeb Hazarika <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Sanjeeb Hazarika <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [asom] Deportation of Bangladeshi To: "ankur baruah" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: assamonline@yahoogroups.com Date: Friday, August 8, 2008, 3:29 PM What Ankur has said is speaking out of his emotions... This agitation of deporting Bangladeshi Nationals all over Assam will be another mockery of Assam Agitation during 80's... which will create another set of power hungry opportunist leaders for Assam who will play with the sentiment of simple minded Assamese people...and will again destroy some important accademic session of students... I would like to ask Ankur a few questions: 1. How long will you continue this detection and Deportation of Bangladeshi from Assam? 2. How will you ensure that those deported will not come back again? 3. What will you do if they come back again after 1 year (mostly will come back within a month)? 4. How long these Students will perform this Hide & Seek game with these People? and at what Cost????? I think the suggestion given by Siddhartha is better alternative compared to sentimental action taken by all student community Hope all should think over the issue in a constructive way to resolve this problem. People of Assam must not be cheated again what the leader of Assam Agitation did. Regards Sanjeeb Hazarika On 8/7/08, ankur baruah <[EMAIL PROTECTED] com> wrote: Thanks for your thought Sid. Ya its true that ppl from poorer conutry to richer country comes for work. But, there is huge differences between Bangladeshis and Polish workers. Have you found any polish worker with 5 wives and 20-30 childrens. I knew few of them in Assam (Asom). Bangladeshis are not here just for work, with due aided support from our so called Govt. they are changing the structure of our society. If, you have a visit through country side, say if you go from Guwahati to Udalguri, via magaldai, kharupetia or say, Guwahati to Jorhat via Kaziranga etc, you will see that they reside in huge number on side of the NH. Any layman who travels in Assam (Asom) can find foreigners except our respected Chief Minister Sahab who is yet to find one Bangladeshi. I am sorry to say this, please just don't write just articles for sake of it. If you really want to save Assam (Asom), do come n join the agitation which has started in Assam (Asom) statewise, help it and please do come in election time to cast your valuable vote thanks. Note: Just a question from my side, why all the so called foreigners, run away at election time to Dhubri or Nagaon district? Why our honourable chief minister never found a foreigner? Think. Have, Bangladeshis become the king maker of Assam (Asom)? In Britian we had similar problems with Polish and other East European workers in the past. The migration of people from a poor country to a richer country is common everywhere. If we managed to implement Assan Accord fully even then politicians will devise a way to prevent it from happening. I think we need to look at the ways to utilise this hard working community to our benefits and legalising their stay by issuing temperory work permit or something similar and extract income tax from them in some form. If you look at the western countries, they realise that the resource they spend on stopping them from entering the country illegally is much higher and not worth spending. They therefore devised a way to tap the resource and use it for their country's benefit by issuing work permits and allowing them to enter the country legally. I think we need to discuss something in similar lines rather than wasting our time in finding a solution to deport entire population of Bangladeshi community back to their country, which is simply impossible.
