I thought I'd take a more detailed look at the log of the last

random time decided to not to answer SMTP requests. All ASSP does is
its hourly housecleaning. Stopping ASSP with its web interface fixes
the problem, because I

It's not even a month old.
I'll download the new version and see if it changes anything. Is there
any reason why the newer version is more likely to be stable in this

OK, I've turned it on.
One thing that does come to mind is that I suspect that this issue is
a problem for my users outside the server's network. I seem to
remember that I could send mail, but they could not. Don't quote me on
this, yet,
Being that this is still Beta, you should be updating often.
Only four weeks have passed since my last download, and about two
weeks before the first occasion of this problem. Even as beta tester,
downloading every couple of weeks is extraordinarily frequent.

There have been times when bi-daily and daily updates were the norm for
me with the 1.x version (I haven't tried 2.x yet). I would consider
that to be extraordinarily frequent. Fritz

One idea it did raise for me is that it would be great to find a way
to have ASSP restart itself periodically, to get around such freezes.
There is a complete restart feature built into V2.

It is actually spam, but I am just testing the resend functionality.
I noticed that the filename is wrong the first 6 times it is listed in

If you mean AutoRestart, it was set to On, but I do not think it tried
to restart ASSP in this case. If it tried, it only brought up part of
ASSP. :-( The way I restarted ASSP was from Terminate from the

Before I updated form 9.04, I read the assp_version_2.0.0_11.02-te
file. The dates it noted for changes were in 2008, so I did not read,
them, thinking that the information was way older that 9.04. This was
not the case, and I ended up wondering why I could no longer log into
the GUI.
Sorry - my mistake - the dates are 2009 !
ASSP2 (GUI) is user and password protected - login as user - root -
with the old password! Use 'AdminUserFile' to register additional users!
With the next version 2.0.0_11.03/04 - the following configparms will be

There are a few files in the debug folder, so I took a look. I'm not

Fritz,
While examining Version 1.4.3 for a specific issue, I think I found a bug in
message scoring. So, I downloaded Version 1.4.5 RC.0.00.04 (in code) and
checked it. Although, another test parameter has been added in this version,
the basic flow is the same.
In Version 1.4.5 RC04, starting at
