Hi, folks.
I've been on the Asterisk Announce list for a while now, and it seems
to me that the release versions of Asterisk are a bit bleeding-edge.
They qualify as stable, but I wouldn't call them production stable
since half the time a new one comes out, a fix for it comes out the

Hi. As recommended by this list, I am setting up [EMAIL PROTECTED] in

Or something like that. :)
I am following the wonderful instructions on:

Thanks for all the great help! I finally feel a little grounded when
thinking about this stuff... at least enough to put a ballpark figure
on my budget, anyway.
But as I think about it a little more, one huge question appears to
me... do I need to massively expand my network?

Hi again, folks. I've been getting feedback from this list and
elsewhere that softphones are generally not considered good enough
for hardcore business use. Can someone point me to where I can find
more detail on this debate?

Thanks for all the great replies. I guess I over-asked my question
(since so many kept popping up).
For now, what I really need to determine is what I need to budget for
a full implementation. Unfortunately, I don't have time now to do
testing and analysis... I just need to get my budget
Thanks, that's great stuff, Wiley.

Hi, folks. I am planning on implementing Asterisk in 2006, and need
to budget for it now, so I need to know what I'll need to get. My
company has about 50 users, and is currently languishing on a very
old Comdial PBX. All of our client computers are Macs; our servers
