I have a small problem. I have an asterisk installation where asterisk doesn't
automatically restart the idle PRI channels. I am using the same CVS on 2
asterisk boxes. One is a dual Proc 2.8 GHz XEON, with a Digium Quad PRI card,
the other a P4 with HT off, with a digium single PRI card.

I have a problem. The average person is too freaking stupid to use a VOIP
phone. My experience has so far been that if it doesn't have 20 buttons with
little red LED's on it, the user cannot comprehend call parking, attended
transfer, blind transfer, DND, and navigating through a voicemail
Here is something I wasnt quite expecting from a
business deployment, and dont have an answer for. Maybe one of you do.
Incoming call comes in. Rings 5 times to receptionist, then
goes to menu system.
So the receptionist answers a call, and blind transfers the
call to extension X.
I think you guys are making this out to be tougher than it actually is.
I created an NFS share on a machine called asterisk.
Then I created a folder on my asterisk box called /mnt/asterisk.
Then I mounted the NFS share on the asterisk box to the asterisk share.
Then I moved the directories
I use Digium hardware exclusively. I admit that I had problems with the FXO/FXS
cards that I tried out last year, but the PRI cards are an entirely different
story. They have run flawlessly for me and I have single and quad PRI cards in
service.
If they had a garbage product, I wouldn't use
MWI works just fine.

Well I am doing this with success. Dont now that its
necessarily the right waywhat I did was create an NFS
share on the machine that I wanted to store all of the voicemail onthen
changed asterisk.conf spool directory to the appropriate /mnt drivemove
all the folders that were in
I have an installation next week. This asterisk box has a
PRI card (for the inbound PRI) and a TDM400P with 3 FXS cards in it (for 2 fax
machines and a credit card machine)
What do you have to do to get * to see the TDM400P? It sees
the PRI card and associated channels but I cant get
Does anyone have a working failover outbound calls that I
could sponge a hint from? i.e.

Anyone have experience with these (DG-1402S) from D-Link?
Only ones I can find are locked to Lingo service. Are they unlockable or no? I
just want one to test out.

Revisiting this:I was able to get this to work as well, but voicemail doesnt work as intended. A user in companya-internal cannot get his voicemail when in the office. It gives login incorrect. However if the user dials in from outside through a zap channel the vm login works.Any
In order to put a shared pbx in an office building for
multiple businesses, I will have to make sure that the caller ID information
going out is correct.
i.e. company as main phone number is 5551212
company b is 5572121
company c is 5596767
Now I know how to distribute incoming
Pedro
Exactly my point. I have each company in a different
context. How do I SetCallerID to a number based on the context they are in?

So I have a problem. A customer of mine wants a PBX, owns an
office building. I want to sell him on asterisk. He has 4 tenants. I am
using my asterisk box to simulate it. My asterisk box has a TDM400P card, not a
PRI card. Dont know if it makes any difference.
Anyway, I want to route
