It does use the same kernel for everything. It's a specially modified
kernel for the VPS support. I guess the only way to see if ztdummy works in
the VPS is to try it.

I'm running a VPS and I need to pass the device
drivers from the host OS to the VPS. What files do I need to pass through
for ztdummy to work? I'm assuming they're in /dev/zap, but I'm not sure
which ones are needed.

I just saw the S100-FX v2.0 on eBay. I was wondering if anyone has tried it out
and what their opinion of it was.

I thought I read somewhere that you no longer have
to do a special make command for the 2.6 kernel. Is this true, or should I
still make linux26? I'm having problems getting anything zaptel to load
properly.

Yeah, recompiling the kernel is a bit over my head, but I don't want to
install an older gcc, so I'll just have to await some hand-holding from the
people that put my kernel together (OpenVZ).

If the RTP is redirected, does this put the system
under a smaller load? Obviously less network usage, but what about
processor usage, etc.? I'd assume so, but some times ya never
know.

According to this page: http://www.asterisk.org/doxygen/Config_sip.html
canreinvite=yes redirects just the RTP. I was
under the impression that the entire SIP connection got redirected, therefore
losing accounting ability. Could someone clarify this?
--Mike
On a side note: When poking around, I noticed
in the zaptel Makefile that there is a section talking about ztdummy
automatically being included on 2.6 kernels. Is this correct?
On to the main topic: Any ideas for
troubleshooting this?

Do I need any of the kernel module stuff? I'm running on a Virtual Server.

I've been Googling around for some time now (a few
hours on dial-up). I find all kinds of questions similar to mine, but
either there is no answer or the answer has nothing to do with the
question. Hopefully this post isn't another one of those.
Does Asterisk favor FPU performance or clock
My SysAdmin tells me that this script is an Asterisk watchdog, not a SIP
watchdog. Surely someone else out there has had a provider that loses its
connection from time to time and needs to reconnect?

Um, I'm not too sure. :-) I guess just some relevant information.
Something pretty to show clients. I'll ask my SysAdmin if he has any ideas
of what he'd like to see.

I saw a brief discussion via Google about
developing support for LCD displays, ones that you integrate into a drive bay or
whatnot for server information output. Any development on this? I
couldn't find much.

Is there anything I can set or any scripts you guys
have where if it sees certain connections (my upstreams) are down, it attempts
to reconnect them say every minute or 5 minutes? If a provider reloads
something, the connection some times drops and I have to do a "sip reload" to
get it to
Will ask them to check the speaker volumes.
Not sure if you meant outside of my case, but in my case it's less than 15
ms.

I've got two customers on the same broadband
provider. Same Asterisk box on my end. Same CLEC.
One has an IAXy and the other has an Asterisk box
with an array of devices (Grandstream, Cisco, ATCOM, xten, etc.).
The people behind the Asterisk box have had no
audio quality issues. The person
acknowledge that MS can do anything right? of course not. THEY'RE THE
DEVIL!
(note, I will not respond to anything posted in reply to this, so don't
even try)
