Hey I'm experiencing this strange thing.
My setup is : PSTN = Asterisk =IAX= Asterisk = PSTN
The thing is when I dial from the PSTN to the asterisk server and the
latter has called the PSTN number on the other asterisk server, even
if I hangup both the phnes on the PSTN, the ASterisk servers

I want to implement billing in Asterisk for a calling card type application.
My scenario is like this: PSTN = Asterisk =(IAX)= Asterisk = PSTN.
I used the ${ANSWEREDTIME} and ${DIALEDTIME} variables but
${ANSWEREDTIME} always gives a value even if the call is not answered.
e.g. If I dial on

i need to know the exact time when a particular user picks up a
hardphone connected to Asterisk via the FXS module. 'AnsweredTime' is
giving weird integer results.Is there any way of finding out when a
called party has picked up the phone?

I'm using the Asterisk arithmetic operations to do multiplications and
divisions. However, they just do integer calculations whereas i need
to do float point calculations.
Does anyone know any way I could do them ?

I have configured Xlite phones with my Asterisk server.The problem is
that i am gettting a terible echo when i call from one Xlite phone
to the other.From what i ve read uptil now there SHOULDNT be any
echo,atleast not as noticable as mine.any suggestions??
I have linux 2.6.5 running on my machine.I downloaded The latest
version of Zaptel from the cvs repoistory.Compiled zaptel with the
make linux26 option. Installed it by modprobe which gave no
errors.However when i did modprobe wctdm i got the following error.
FATAL: Module wctdm not found.
I have

I want to attach two SIP phones to an asterisk server. The SIP phone
I'm using is the software xlite for windows. The university LAN has a
firewall and xlite says that a blocked firewall was detected. How can
I get around this because they are not going to unblock UDP 5060 for
me.
