Hi
I've just had a request from a customer who wants to use Busy Lamp Feed.
I've had a look around and it would appear that you have top use the
'hint' priority. We are using asterisk 1.4.17 with realtime and the
priority column in the extensions table is a tinyint so obviously I
can't put
I just tried with different values: 800, 8000, 24000 I did a make clean
make make install, restarted asterisk etc...
Unfortunately it does not seem to work.
So I have a hint priority like this:
*1,hint,SIP/1SIP/2.SIP100
If SIP/1 or SIP/2 rings the priority is updated but not for SIP/60
Ups, some more details.
I just tried with different values: 800, 8000, 24000 I did a make clean
make make install, restarted asterisk etc...
Unfortunately it does not seem to work correctly.
So I have a hint priorities like this:
*1,hint,SIP/1SIP/2.SIP100
*2,hint,SIP/1
Here is the scenario. My customer has 3 groups each with 10 users. Every
user has the users of his group programmed on the snom phone for pickup
etc... This works perfectly.
Now they want one global button for each group. so if any phone in
another group rings then they can pick it up.
Why do

Why do we put 80 character limits, computers have GB or memory?

Asterisk was written in c and they do have to declare how much memory
should be reserved for a variable in c, so the programmer arbitrarily
chose a number. They may have put some logic or
Thanks for that idea. That what I had in mind. Now I just need to figure

In main/pbx.c, search for ast_add_extension2 (in my branch, it's at line

Hi,
I noticed that my hint priority stops working when I add to many
extensions/channels. It looks like everything exceeding 80 characters is
discarded.
By stop working I mean the status is and stays Unavailable.
This works

Just curious but why would you want to have a lot of devices all have
the exact same state information?

I put my hints in a separate static context, then set the
subscribecontext in sip.conf to make subscriptions look at that
context
for hints. Perhaps that would work
Can someone shed some light on why the hint feature
was implemented in the priority field that is purely an integer
in the rest of the dialplan?
There seems to be a conflict with realtime and the hint
priority, in order to put in the hints you would have to change the priority
column in
have you tried to set the priority to -1 for the hints in the db?don't know if it works, but I saw somewhere that the 'hint' priority was actually -1 inside asterisk... maybe this will work with realtime arch.Just a suggestion...

Additionally, it may not be the first 'exten =' line, at least in
some versions, so best to put them at the end of the context.

Hi All
Has anyone managed to get the hint priority with Swissvoice IP10S phones
working?
I have 2 phones: a Snom 360, setup as the reception phone on extension

When calling each other (tested both ways) I can only ever see the Snom
360 in the Active

right?

Hello,
I am trying to convert my hint priorities from the old style:
exten = 2130,hint,SIP/0146472130
to Asterisk Extension Language (AEL) style.
I haven't found anything in the docs, wiki or examples about it.
How should I do it?

I don't believe hints are supported in AEL at this time.

So, from what limited info I was able to find in the wiki, the hint

if we had this...
