Hello,
I followed the directions for setting up a user on
Asterisk IRC.
I type the following:
/msg #asterisk username register password
/msg #asterisk set alternative username
And I get /msg Nick Serv help register. I messaged
the moderator a couple of times to no avail.

Hi Eddie,
Connect to irc.freenode.net, and then type this:
/msg nickserv register password
nickserv will tell you that your nick is now registered.
Then type this:
/j #asterisk
Say hi to CunningPike when you get there.
