I actually had a look at one on ebay.
What concerned me was the fact that the seller had set it on a carpet for the
pictures. I was concerned about static damage.
Too late now, tho. I'm still conflicted about it. Sigh.

Hello,
As long as they provide some sort of DOA guarantee, I wouldn't worry too much about it. -brandonOn 8/25/06, joea, j4computers

Ah, I forgot to add that. I asked explicitly about warranty and a couple of
other things. To me
no answer to the warranty question meant no warranty. For the price it sold
for, I' rather get
a new one.
I think one of the $20.00 ebay OEM's in the ticket for now.

FXO is coming from the PSTN, FXS is what devices connect to (like a analog phone). If you are using VOIP phone then you dont need the FXS modules, just FXO.On 8/24/06,

But I'll start with this.
To setup a simple system with only a couple of POTS lines, I gather I will
need a TDM400 board with FXO and/or FXS modules.
So, a TDM400 card will support up
a TDM400 card will hold up to four modules, which can be FXO or FXS.
depending on the modules purchased you can connect up to four phones
(using FXS modules) or four incoming phone lines (using FXO modules), or
any combination thereof.

You will need a TDM400 with an FXO module for each line you want. A TDM400
supports up to four lines or analog stations. For two lines, you should get a
TDM04B.

Thanks for all the replies.
I take it that with one of these FXO boards, one would need an IP phone
as there is no FXS ?
BTW, cheapest I've seen is $19.95. Still, not bad.
