[asterisk-users] new HOWTO - Lumicall/Android with an Asterisk PBX
After a lot of questions from Asterisk users, I've now created a dedicated page with settings for Lumicall and Asterisk to work together http://www.lumicall.org/configuration/asterisk As of the 1.8.x releases of Lumicall, it is much more consistent at remaining registered on devices that frequently sleep. This is mainly based on the addition of SIP outbound keep-alive over TLS/TCP, together with improved code for background processing when Android sleeps. Lumicall is also available from F-Droid now, so it is easier than ever to be certain that you are running a binary built from the published source code, and no Google account is needed to install with F-Droid: http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=lumicallfdid=org.lumicall.androidfdpage=1 -- _ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- New to Asterisk? [asterisk-users] Cascading macros in 1.8. Bug or feature ?
Hello, In Freepbx 2.10, for instance, you can read several instances of the following pattern : In extensions.conf #include extensions_additional.conf #include extensions_custom.conf In extensions_additional.conf [macro-hangupcall] include = macro-hangupcall-custom exten = s,1,Noop(foobar1) In extensions_custom.conf [macro-hangupcall-custom] exten = s,1,Noop(foobar2) When using dialplan show s@macro-hangupcall, asterisk (1.8.12) displays both foobar1 and foobar2 dialplans, in this order. Then asterisk ignores foobar2 dialplan and only run foobar1 diaplan. Would you rate this a bug or a feature ? To me, asterisk should both : 1. list foobar2 dialplan first (with dialplan show) as the include statement is the first one, 2. run foobar2 dialplan it is the first listed. Opinions ? Suggestions ? Re: [asterisk-users] Good way to query data from asterisk realtime with Asterisk Manager API
Thanks for everyone's message, Finally, I figure out how to use AMI fetch data from realtime. After log in AMI. First step, a setVar action should be sent (for example, in this case, I am interested in the content of realtime family = test_family, key = mykey,) setVar action should look like Action: Setvar Variable: REALTIME(test_family, key, mykey) After that, I should have a success response like Response: Success Message: Variable Set Afterward. I could use getVar action to fetch the result Action: Getvar Variable: REALTIME(test_family, key, mykey) Finally, query result will be in the response. From this practice, it seems, AMI getVar and setVar action have more function than I through. Thanks for every one's help. On Sep 1, 2012, at 10:14 AM, Olle E. Johansson wrote: 31 aug 2012 kl. 16:58 skrev Shitian Long longst...@gmail.com: Do you think it is a good way to use Manager API command action to implement this feature? No. The command action should be avoided since the output from the CLI commands is not made for parsing by applications and may change too. Sometimes we cut of informaiton to fit into a terminal window. If you use manager actions instead, you will always get the full data in a format you can parse. If you have to use the command action you have found a place where a manager action is missing and we developers would like to know that and fix it :-) For realtime, there's a dialplan function REALTIME() that you can use with the manager actions that change or read channel variables. That's the best way, since we lack manager realtime commands. One reason for not going directly to the database API is that when building 3rd party apps, we don't know what database you are using and can benefit from the ARA interface to databases, exactly like Asterisk. It's not as effecient as going directly when you can, but sometimes you just don't know what's behind ARA and thanks to ARA you don't have to. :-) /Olle * The new Edvina SIP Masterclass - Stockholm, Sweden Oct and Miami, FL, Dec 2012 http://edvina.net/training/new-sip-masterclass/-- _ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- New to Asterisk? Re: [asterisk-users] asterisk on arm
has anyone tried asterisk on arm processors? Yeah, I used Asterisk on ARM Cortex8 processors for an embedded board, Zoom OMAP35x. how is the performance? Well, it was an experimental setup to create a custom Asterisk channel. So I can't tell you about the performance in production deployment. have encountered problems in the compilation? Yes, occasionally. Since cross compiler was used there were several issues, like setting the appropriate environment variables, customizing Makefiles and such. But Timesys' Factory https://linuxlink.timesys.com provided a kind of SDK for embedded system development. It worked well I think. -- Sazzad Bin Kamal -- _ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- New to Asterisk? Re: [asterisk-users] asterisk on arm
I have tried it on raspberrypi, Although i didn't do any tests but looks promising. Should be able to handle calls in figure of two digits easily, The final answer always depends on your configuration.
