Ok so I was not able to get the actual line in use from core show channels anymore. So I thought I would bit the bullet and just monitor events since that seemed like the thing to do. After doing that I mad a call. Event: Newchannel Privilege: call,all Channel: DAHDI/i4/317XXX

I apologize in advance if I do not ask the question well, but, here goes. I have SIP extensions (Digium phones) on one Asterisk system. Once I have set sendrpid=pai in sip.conf, they see the called party name on their displays when calling eachother. Is there any method to extend this

It may depend on the asterisk version, but in theory you should just be able to set callerid(num) and callerid(name) before doing the IAX2 dial. You should always specify the Asterisk version you are using as features often change or are available/not available between different releases.

You must make sure that for each card, the timing parameter does not exceed the number of spans on the card (unless you're using a timing cable between cards). So you probably don't want to have anything above a 4 for the timing parameter... I see below that you have 5-12 listed in the timing
