RE: [Asterisk-Users] RE: Writing To Multiple MySql Tables

2005-05-16 Thread Rafal Kaniewski

Is there any other way to connect multiple tables and fields to read and
write in the dialplan? (simple inserts queries).

Perhaps via app_dbodbc or res_sqlite?

I have the same dtmf problem tried both inband and info but could not
get
voicemail to work.

I have also been using voiptalk for the last year. The only isssue I
have
with them is that during the day the service is fine but in the evening
you
can get jitter problems and dropped calls.

Both are often reported problems with Sipgate. I have the DTMF

 Now I use voiptalk.org

 Hi,
are you saying that the DTMF tones are ignored (or not passed) when
you dial in from a sipgate number?
So interactive menus would not work?

Surely I've got that wrong. I'm just considering ordering a sipgate
number
 too.

 Robert,

It looks like you're dialing 447733322998, 44 for UK, then the area
code, etc. I have sipgate.de setup to dial local numbers (any German
number) as 0+AREA CODE+NUMBER. Always dial the area code, even if you
sipgate number is in the same city. For international numbers you
need
to dial 00+COUNTRY CODE+AREA CODE+NUMBER. I think similar rules apply
for sipate.co.uk, so try dialing the above as: 07733322998 or
 00447733322998.

Doh, I had tried several combinations of dailing, however I didn't try
just 077xxx that worked fine. I thought it was the way I was
dailing as other ways I'd tried had failed. Thats got it working.
Thanks for the wake up :)

Besides that, maybe a stupid question, but do you have money in your
 sipgate account?

Yeah :)

RE: [Asterisk-Users] Playing mp3's while recording voicemail

2005-04-25 Thread Rafal Kaniewski
Yeah the idea: its like a karaoke conversation between people via
voicemail thats posted on a website as an audio thread under a creative
commons licence.

Base requirements:
-record: pick up, and reply to recordings.
--listening to music while recording
--having that music mixed with the recording
--background music specified by website
--a web listing of audio threads

So far we have built an * box played around with iax2 trunks, voicemail,
IVRs, vmail.cgi and mysql integration. Out of the box these dont fit.
Not sure if we need to adapt theses or find other ways of doing it. Need
direction on what we need to do next. Going to play with
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+tips+wiki (audio wiki) and using
monitor / mp3player next? Ideas please?

This is a non-commercial 'arts' project as a registered charity working
with youth music groups. (currently applying for funding as our dev
skills are limited)

Very Curious,

As a developer and Big Idea person I would like to know more about
this.

I am kinda curious about the singing part.

Is this karaoke via asterisk?

RE: [Asterisk-Users] Do I Need Asterisk.

2005-03-10 Thread Rafal Kaniewski

Creative Commons (uk) / licensing of youth rap/lyrics via cellular
with disputes settled / tournaments via online (www) public voting of streamed audio
battles (recorded via mobile) looking to pilot it in 3 months with a
few youth clubs in London and very small amount of public arts funding (mainly for
the streaming server space).

Seeking tutorials details
(asterisk: cellular voicemail, sql, transcoding integration, magic cauldron) about setting this
up.. as
the asterisk manual is very sip / work telephony focused.

Or are there other pbxs better suited too such a project?

From: C. Tomlinson

Do
you mind me asking for a little more information regarding what this would be
used for?

From: Rafal

Hi, can someone knowledgebale
about pbx's please help mewith some research before I approach people for
help/funding.. (its for a youth/community web site in the uk)

I require a pbx that:

1) on dialing in:
-requests a user ID, checks adatabase if theuserID
callerID matches
-records a message transcoding it to a streaming audio format
-logs the call;user ID; address of the media file in database

2) dials out:
-from database
-plays streaming file down phone or onto voicemail

what are my options here? please advise..
(my knowledge level is basic python general scripting)
